Hummer 4TH order bandpass built by Scott Bowman

Recommended Posts

I was thinking of doing a 4th order with my Aq HDC3 15s. I may have to re think that. Your subs look VERY similar to mine, I wonder how alike they really are?

they are very alike, same motor and basket, slightly diff soft parts...ab hd recones will fit aq subs...but aq recones will not fit american hd's becuse the gap is tighter on the american bass.

ok did some testing today, rather Scott did....wired at 1/2 ohm rise to .97 clamped 11,383.64 per amp over 22k total...burbed 155 flat initial testing...Scotts gonna shrink the port area and retest tomorrow...as well as rewire subs to present a 2ohm load...Learned alot today...Hd's are not the best sub for sealed boxes..but I(we) knew that going in... they are stiff as hell..yes Singer you told me so..lol! Hopefully once they break in and rework port we will see some better numbers. I plan on changing subs at the beginning of the year..but for now gotta roll with these...Nick did a video of the subs playing I'll post a link to the video in a few.

nice output. any idea what vehicle voltage dropped to during this test?

Hope to see videos soon!

Do a freq range test when you can. Please.

And deff a smaller vent.

55 is still great. At what freq? Open, sealed??

voltage drop wasn't measured when we clamped the amps. but with how much those amps can draw i'm sure it was in the low 12 to high 11 range. amps wired at .6-.7dcr rising to .97

what frequencies are you guys with the hummers normally peaking at?

its peaking pretty hard full tilt at 52hz, so we'll be bringing the port area and tuning down a bit.

B pillar hummer typically peakes at 41-43. Depending on port placment.

we can't seem to get the peak quite that low. brought tuning down from 53 to 48 and its much more friendly now. port area also is down from 400 to 342^2" a

wired amps up to 2 ohm nominal to see how they do. rise is crazy now. amps are making about 3k per rising to 6 ohms from 1.7dcr starting, which is about what i expected. with the amps wired like that it will do a 151.0-151.2 from 43hz to 50hz on 6k clamped.

were about to wire it back to .5 nominal and see what it does on a burp with the port changes.
