ChrisLun Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 OK, it's rebuild time again for me....And the biggest problem I have is deciding what woofers to run. I have always ran the "same" company all the way thru, from woofers to amps,to front stage etc.... Now that I am trying to move from using a lot of the "commercial brands" I see some companies carry woofers and amps, but no speakers. Or they have Woofers and Speakers but no amps.... So I need opinions on what would be more efficient to run. Now this is a trunk build, NO WALL, my seats do not fold down.....Here is all the info on my car currently 2006 Dodge Charger 270A XP DC Power Alt (Moving to a custom Mechman 350 soon) (2) Kinetic 3800's (1) RF 3Sixty.2 Pioneer-DEH-8300UB Pioneer-DEQ-9200 Also, I was considering doing a "Dayton" front stage.....I will not be using any rear speakers....Well maybe a pair just for some rear fill. So opinion on what is best with them.... I am not a noob, to car audio....Just new to "this" side of the world to it. For the last 4-5 yrs of me doing this as a installer and fabricator everything that has ever come my way was some form of actually "car audio" commercial brands and not pro audio. But after attending a few shows and listening to those with pro audio in their vehicles I'm gonna set out on a limb and give it a whirl. So the point of this thread is ME asking "What subs are efficient enough to be ran as a daily ground pounder?" " What amps would be a better match efficiently, and is the amp current hungry?" " What model Daytons are good for a front stage" *Please no kids responses* True KNOWLDGEABLE audiophiles responses please****  Quote 2006 Dodge Charger (2) Kinetic 3800 (1) DC Power 270XP (4) T1-12D4 (1) T2500BDCP (2) T400.4 7.5 cubic ft. Not the 60/40....I had 4 T1-12's on a BD2500, all rockford T1 everything. My goal is a daily ground pounder that is uncomftable to sit in. Not comps, just ground pounding. I liked everything, no complaints, but it took almost 5K to get what there. And listening to a lot of the vehicles at demos and hearing the crisp clarity off of pro audio speakers that cost 70% less than that of the commercial brands. I wanna go for something different. kam311 Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 For a daily ground pounder I'd be all over some sundowns Quote so far... keepinitloud Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 the sundown nightshade 12's or ssa d con subs or even the x con might work for you the fi subs are very nice as well as the mayhem subs from acsendent audio as far as amps that is still going to be pricey for good amps but not as bad as what you paid for rockford fosgate and the dayton stuff does great you should just do what you have been doing listen to other peoples rides and if you like how their equipment sounds then go for it find out what it cost them to put together Quote 06 chrysler 300C Hemi one mmatts dreadnaut 15 powered by a planet audio vx 2200d fosgate p200 running planet audio 8" midbass drivers and super compression tweeters stock battery and a stinger spv44 Irragi 300 amp alternator big 3 1/0 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/55075-system-in-my-300c/page__view__findpost__p__763656__fromsearch__1
ChrisLun Posted August 13, 2011 Author Report Posted August 13, 2011 BTW...This is not a "who's better" thread, just a thread in regards to a "Great Ground Pounder Package" Quote 2006 Dodge Charger (2) Kinetic 3800 (1) DC Power 270XP (4) T1-12D4 (1) T2500BDCP (2) T400.4 7.5 cubic ft. ChrisLun Posted August 13, 2011 Author Report Posted August 13, 2011 For a daily ground pounder I'd be all over some sundowns I was thinking possibly sundown....Like 10-12 SA-8's just for the shits and giggles of doing so....Possibly was leaning towards a single 18 also....I dunno so many choices.....DAMN THIS 12V INDUSTRY!!!!!! kam311 Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 12 sa-8s! I'd tune into that build, and then some!! Quote so far... ChrisLun Posted August 14, 2011 Author Report Posted August 14, 2011 Ok I have come to these three choices now I need an opinion on what will "ground pound" This is for (6) SA-8 or DC lvl2 8's.....incase you are wondering without using my second hidden enclosure I have 6.2^3 Here is one for (4) T3 T.2000 10's or (4) SA-10's or (4) DC XL10's And finally a single 18 either (1) T3 Audio TSNS or (1) DC Lvl 5 And the options of 12's and 15's have crossed my mind. I will be running (2) T2500.1BDCP for all set ups...... If anybody is good at sketch-up and feels the need to tweek it....fell free to do so.
