Someone to calc box tuning?

So confused on this box plan, i dont really understand which is port length/width and height because its an L port and its my first design (well 2nd) but first L.

Outer dimentions:41 wide/ 18 deep/ 16.5 tall (double baffle)

Inside: 39 wide/ 16.5 deep/ 14.5 tall

Port height/length width im not sure but we made it

5 inches tall along the bottom and the exit slot port is also (5" wide by 16.5" high slot)

Then it also runs along that 39", can anyone calc that?

Its subs up port up in an ext cab

hi mate im kinda new to all this with building sub boxes but if you can post up all the details of your subs then perhaps someone can help you get a box design to suit your subs

if you play around with the square port length and width it will alter the tuned frequence

did you use torres? just put your specs in there and it should calc it.

even in a L shaped port the width is going to be the same all the way through the box. its just bent around a corner.

just find the overall net volume and use those dimensions 5x16.5x39 in your port dimensions.

Well i used RE's and i guess i had it wrog, the L port peice is 29" long leaving 5" slot port width and 5" where the air leaves the subs. so it was just like this 39" width-10" was that 29" peice. so i go with 29" as port length? not 39?- the box length

If i use 39 as the "square port length" on RE's it goes outside the box and says something like 47 hz lol., so when i put 29" it said 32hz and left A 5" slot width and 5" where the air from subs leaves.

your length is actually going to be measured from the center of the port. in an L shaped port youll measure the outside opening on your box. say 5x10. (wxH) then if your port needs to be 30 inches long to get the desired tuning, but say your box is only 15inches deep. you will have to make a 45 degree corner at the back so that your port will stay 5 inches wide through the entire run. when you bend it around the corner.

K, well all i know is the slot port on the outside is 5" wide and 16.5 tall. along the bottom its 5" tall and also box wall to box wall so 16.5. the L is only 29 inches long along the bottom of the box.

try using the torres calculator and see what you come up with. its pretty simple to use.

i would do it but i have a mac and i cant download it.
