ChevyBoy
how would u wire up batteries under the hood? pos to pos and neg to neg? or would u ground the second battery to the chassis?
GHOPPOMAN
I have 2 2400 kinetics and i linked the 2 pos together with 1/0 and then grounded each to the chassis. then connected all my wiring to the downstream batt.
ChevyBoy
that made no sense. u grounded all the batteries to the chassis. but u connected all the negatives together? so u ran 2 grounds for each battery or no?
Guest SyKo13
What do you want? More current or more voltage?
ChevyBoy
just tryin to keep my voltage up. so im guessing more current.
Guest MegaloManiac
wiring 2 batteries in series will double the voltage, wiring 2 of them in parallel will double the amperage... x2

If you want more voltage, wire it in series, from one battery to the other, + to -, the remaining - just ground it to wherever it needs to go, and the other + just go where you need it to go. Correct me if I'm mistaken at some point.
Guest SyKo13
wire it in series then, if you wire it in paralel you will get a different voltage i believe. i remeber wiring 4 kinetiks into 16v it was wired series and parlele because 2 of the batts were modded Series wiring = more voltage Parallel wiring = more current

ChevyBoy
well i got a chevy truck and removed the storage compartment under the hood. so my main battery is on the pass side and thats where my alt is hooked up to and my power wire it ran from. the other battery is on the drivers side. i have both positives connected and the second battery is grounded to the chassis. soo idk how its set up really. for it to be parallel wouldnt it be + to + and - to -?
