Haha I don't really think you would see any difference, they probably weigh pretty close to the same honestly (thats a total guess though never held either).

But type r vs sa8s the sundowns will be better overall subs IMO

Right thats what im thinking now... Maybe i'll get some 10" instead, or just say fock it and get some nicer 12"

Right now my subs arent playing correctly and i cant figure out the problem. Its making really mad that i want to get rid of it...

They are definetly nicer... but you were asking how to save money. Two SA8's in a properly ported and built enclosure will get nice and loud on the same wattage a Type R needs.

Hmm i just dont know what i want to do now. Cuz i definitely dont wanna lose any bass, and if its only gonna save me some 10 pounds of weight then i dont think its worth it. Might as well get the SA 12" and be louder lol

I got an MB Quart onx 1500.d i believe. Supposedly it 1500 rms at 1 ohm, but i know my electrical doesnt support that, and idk if the amp will actually produce that.

But i have the opportunity to pick up a DC lvl 4 15" right now. Is it worth selling my type r's and going with a single 15"??? Its a DVC 2 ohm, so i would wire it to 1 ohm and it would get its 1000 watts i believe... what you guys think?? Worth it? WIll there be a noticeable gain??

Of course ill build a proper enclosure for the 15''
