Scoobystyl Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 Okay so heres whats going on, im looking to purchase some components for the front and rear of my 01 Blazer, i am going to do a 2 way set up front with the mid on my dash and the tweets in the a pillars, in the component set im looking for something that will handle alot of power and in the under $300 dollar range. So far im leaning towards the massive audio rk6 set, however i know theres a few sets out there in the same price range that are equal or better, ive heard good things about HAT, Hertz, Rainbow, O2 from reading around on here also, one other thing is these components must look good. After i get all this installed i may add a woofer in my doors depending if i feel its necessary or not. On the amps, im set on kicker zx amps but my question is would it be better to do two zx450.2 or a zx650.4? Whats in the Blazer now, Pioneer avic f90bt, alpine type s speakers in the dash, bose 8" woofers in the doors, bose speakers in rear doors, all powered by bose amp, then in the back i have a 15" team psi rebuild (quad spider, 8 layer flat wound voicecoil, and quad leads) started out as a re audio mx 12", sub powered by a kicker zx2500.1. power wise i have the big 3 done, a 300 or 400 amp alt, a yellow top, but planning on adding a xs power 1400 or something to the rear. Thanks in advanced im definitely open to suggestions on everything here.
tonedeaf Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 Components must look good? Talk about subjective. Not to mention, looks > performance is what I normally go for. Id rather have the set that sounds the best, IDC if it looks like a pile of smashed asshole, as long as it sounds good, why does look matter?
Scoobystyl Posted August 22, 2011 Author Report Posted August 22, 2011 I totally agree with you, however if theres a good looking speaker and a shitty looking speaker, both with the same sound and same price which would you choose? Id imagine there out there. But id like it to look good because they will be going on my dash only behind the stock plastic grate which is easy to see through, just preference.
tonedeaf Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 The xs power d1400 is a 14v battery FYI. Don't mix them with 12v batteries. As for speakers I'll shoot you some links later.
