Dizzles
sooooooo i come on here a few years ago had some false hopes and finally had a system in my precious escort easy wiring simple sh*t right? well it broke down left me stranded 3 hours from my house 2 scratch off big win tickets and some 1500 bucks later i picked up this lovely cadillac deville its a 2000 with the bose audio system. nice car but a BITCH to deal with in wiring i wanted to run a line out converter and had my old set up all hooked up and ready to go but all n all... nothing no sound nadda.... the main thing is that im stumped over this wiring i got all this mess and some of it is wires ran to the individual amps to the speakers and some go to the speakers and a few are for the steering wheel controls i bought a head unit for it. considering as i was uninstalling my previous one from my escort i popped something inside and it didnt work... anyways... really to sum all this b/s up im lookin for someone who has dealt with an 2000-05 deville dhs or dts whatever. and was wondering what yall ran into and how yall got your head unit hooked up. im not going double din till christmas time when i get serious with the project. i got a single din set up and ready to go just cant seem to get the wires to match anything regardless of how i wiring it. been using this wiring diagram (http://www.modifiedlife.com/2000-cadillac-deville-car-stereo-wiring-diagram/) but nuttin seems to match due to multiple wires being the same color. but ye i do love this car and all but im startin to think that this car is becoming more of a pain to get some beat in than what its worth and ive had many failed attempts for a while after wiring a loc for my set up and not having any sound come out but anyways whos able to help me with the wiring i need to know 3 things -the steering wheel control wires -the amplifier wires on this car -the +/- speaker wires i know its a bunch to ask and im sorry for making you read all this but ya know. im kinda desperate and kinda explained it all at once. i do know what i'll be running and how my set up will be... i think once i get this head unit in everything else should be a breeze.... i think.... i hope. lol Quote 1994 escort... Dizzles
was it an adapter to the stock wiring harness? cause i was looking at one where it would allow the stock steering wheel controls to work with an aftermarket head unit Quote 1994 escort... Vell318
There are two ways to maintain your steering wheel control: 1. Re-install the factory head unit 2. Purchase the interface; but they only work with certain aftermarket decks. You must check with the seller when purchasing. If you want to re-install the factory deck with subs, you need to get a "High Power" line out converter. You can install this at the leads for the factory sub. Many line converters are not compatible with this system, you must have one of the more expensive ones. If you choose to go with an aftermarket deck, you have to run new speaker wires in order to bypass the factory amplifier. If you do not, you will have distortion. Hopefully this will help. If not, I am sure that I have the answer for you. I have three Cadillacs and do my own installs!! 99 DeVille / 03 CTS / 05 DeVille
