The PAC LC-1 is a volume controller that you plug into VIA RCA, controlls gains i believe. my question is, When you have your gains set on your amp correctly, does it use the gain the amp is set on as a MAXIMUM setting or do you have to find the max setting on the LC-1?

It attenuates singal voltage from the source unit. Amplifier (where the gain is set) comes after and then subwoofer after that. The PAC LC-1 only changes the 2v or 4v etc that comes out of the headunit. The amplifiers gain is set for the headunits max output voltage, so long story short, it can't go higher than what the amps gain is set to.

alright so its what i thought in the first place then, thats good. the amp i currently have, doesnt have an option for bass knobs so im kinda limited to what i can get. heard good reviews on the LC-1 seems really simple to install too kinda straight forward. kinda tired of having very limited bass control. the only thing i can do to it as of now is either turn the music down or turn the bass off at the headunit. this really frustrates me because, ya know, if you spend money on a system youre gonna want to be able to play it dammit lol.

i gotta be able to control the bass, when the wife rides with me she doesnt like the bass being so loud but not off, so this may be the EXACT thing i need, Thanks for the info chevyboy :drinks:

yep, you'll like it. ive got one. when you set your gains, turn the controller all the way up though, to allow full signal through. if you dont, then when you turn it up after your gains are set, you will clip.
