Head unit problems??

Alrighty so Ive had the same headunit for about a year and a half now, its a Dual XDVD 9101 (I know its shitty)... but its ran fine until about a few weeks ago when I was traveling to college which is a 3 hour drive. The 1st hour and a half of the drive was perfectly fine, but then my speaker amps cut out and only the subs were playing (so i figured something just came unhooked and didnt bother). Then about 25 more minutes later in the trip my subs started to cut out when it got to a certain volume. So I shut the headunit off for the rest of the trip. I got to my apartment to check out what was going on. I checked all fuses front to back, checked all the grounds, perfect. I noticed my sub amp was still on, not getting any output to the subs. I also noticed my speakers amp (Soundstream px4.760 was in protect mode) I unhooked the remote wire, but it was still in protect mode. So I unhooked the RCAs and the protection light went off, plugged them back in for a sec and the protect light went back on. So I thought ..

For some very odd reason my RCAs are making my amps go into protect, checked the back of the headunit and all were fine.

Did my headunit finally take a pooper?

EDIT: After I got to my apartment and couldnt figure out what was wrong, I said screw it and took my keys out, didnt touch my car for 3 days straight (since I dont really use it much at college).. and I came back one day and my speakers amp was STILL IN PROTECT MODE. With the car shut off, keys out of it.

Thats what I thought to, BUT I found the problem. I have two Kinetik HC2000s in the back stacked on top of each other. The bottom one (which feeds the top one) had a ground wire come loose that runs to the top battery, hence my sub amp and speakers amp draining a battery that was not charging. I checked the voltage on the top battery and it was 5.6 volts So I have it charging now...... Gonna fix the bad wire when I get back out there. Audio problems.......
