Hifonics HFI2500D 2500 watt amp HFI doesnt seem to be putting out t

OK so i have had Hifonics amps for the last 3-4 years i have owned 3 bxi1608d's and i got my HFI 2500 3 months ago....i loved my bxi's but im unsure of the HFI series amps while it is still strong and a nice design it is not as powerful as the bxi series amps. when i had the bxi i knew i had a full 1600 rms or better but the hfi don't seem to put out 2000 watts RMS let alone the 2500 ....dont get me wrong i paid $260.00 for this amp new on Amazon & it hits good for the money but does not live up to what i expected from my past with Hifonics amps...it seems to be more testy on how you set the gains (i need a smd dd1) and runs pretty warm pushing x2 sa 12" d4s and will shut down on a hot day or if you dont let it warm up for a min or so... i have a all raptor 0 gauge wire a mechman 200 amp alt suriken 45 amp hour batt,x2 18 amp hour wereker batts with a interstate 1100 CA simi bat up front it never goes below 12.4 (at a stop light) so far it has held up and sounds really clean but don't seem to do what it says my guess would be that it pushes @1900 watts when it is in a good mood...lol (had it clamped by a guy he said it was doin 1399 watts but not sure it was done right or there wast some hating goin on...lolz) if i was asked i would say hifonics stepped down in there quality over the last 2 years.i hope this helps ppl out so they are not disappointed as i was....like i said its durable and it sounds great just not doin its job

i have had trouble selling this amp so i decided to see if it could do .5 ohm with out frying...well i hooked it up had a .7 ohm load for @week /3 hard hours play time it took it like a champ never shut down got warm .but not as warm as i have had it with the sundowns @1 ohm it did how ever seem to distort more at high volume than @2ohm or 1ohm....i have it ran @ 2ohm now & it still plays fine ....i wouldnt suggest running it daily @.5 ohm but it will do it and not fry ....

yeah, the hfi amps aren't all that great, highly overrated amps, now the new brutus series amps along with the old BXI's put out rated and then some if you have great voltage, I hear they're pretty damn reliable too. If I were to go with hifonics i'd get the Brutus amps hands down.

yea i was super happy with my brutus#bxi1608d's they would really put out the power.if i get another hifonics i will try to get 1 of the older bxi's 4sure...didn't know the new brutus was any good i haven't seen 1 in action yet...but thank im gonna look in to them cause i do like hifonics amps

Hi-fi line is basically rated at "Max" not like the Brutus or bxi lines that are rms.

The BXIs I have seen did close to rated but not more then. the 2600 did like 2200 on great electrical

yea the 1 thing about hifoinics is they are very power hungry 2nd batt is a must

what amps would you suggest? i am on a budget but am not sure of what to get i like hifonics but im a lil upset with there new stuff & have heard good thigs about AQ...what do you like to run? i have 2 sa12-d4s and am gonna up grade to some dclv4/ths igor 18"s soon
