Miles Posted September 28, 2011 Report Posted September 28, 2011 Well i started this tonight. I'm still up in the air between picking either Sundown SA 10's, or Skar Audio VVX 10's. I'm kinda of leaning toward the Skars, simply because not many people have the 10's, and i see a lot of SA10 single cab truck installs. But anyway, the box is 2.4 cubes net with 2 4" PVC pipes (flared at the end) tuned to 33 hz. Will finish the box in the next couple of days, but still need to sell me current sub to buy the new ones. Anyone have suggestions on what kind of 10's i should run? I'll be putting about 1300-1400 wrms to the pair. And, is the little "blocker bar" in front of the port a good idea with the port being only about 7" from the sub? i've had problems before with past enclosures of the port being too close and the sub unloading a lot.
Trey_Dog650 Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 Good job ! What's it tuned to ? 33 Hz 13 Kia Forte Build! 07 Hyundai Accent Build ***Super Seller*** N8ball2013 And then he gets to say ok all you guys were right. im sorry for being a dummy poo poo head.
Miles Posted October 18, 2011 Author Report Posted October 18, 2011 Yep, 33hz. Just put another coat of liner on it to give it some added strength. But still have to wait another 4 months or so until i get some SA 10's.
Miles Posted October 28, 2011 Author Report Posted October 28, 2011 So, change of plans a little. I found a really good deal on some brand new DD 1510's, so i had to grab them. Put them in the box and in the truck, and wow. For being a lower line DD sub, these sound amazing and hit harder than my Fi Bl did. Here's a few pictures and a video. These subs are still very stuff, so it will be a while before they break in, but i'm loving them so far. Video will come in a few minutes after Youtube is done processing.
Mario928 Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 Maybe i missed it but what amp are you using? Build Under Construction Head Unit = Kenwood DDX514 Amps = Kicker 750.1, Going to install Sundown 1500D v3 and Sundown 125.4 Battery = XS D3400 Wires = Kicker RCA's, 0 Gauge street wire and Stinger Mids and Highs = Stock Sub= Kicker L7 12" Alternator = 220 Mechman Sound Deadner= Fatmat and Stinger Road Kill
Miles Posted October 28, 2011 Author Report Posted October 28, 2011 Powerbass ASA 1500.1D. Powers the subs very nicely.
Miles Posted October 28, 2011 Author Report Posted October 28, 2011 Here's a video. And before anyone asks, it's just the camera playing tricks, the subs aren't out of phase. These absolutely destroy the lows.
Miles Posted October 30, 2011 Author Report Posted October 30, 2011 Loving these DD's so far. was really set on some SA's, but that might be a while. With the passenger side all sealed up andthe drivers door open, this thing moves a TON of air. Will have to get some videos this week of the air movement and truck flex.
