superdave07 Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 Ive done some searching with no luck really. I thought i'd ask. How does moving the box change the tuning? For example, in an suv, subs up, port out the rear. How does moving the box farther or closer to the rear of the vehicle change the way it sounds? Reason im asking, is because im building a new box for the daily (95 integra) tomorrow and im trying to decide if i want to do subs up, port out the rear, or subs up and port firing up. Either way the port only has a small amount of space from the back of the car or hatch lid. If anyone can shed some light or has some integra experience please feel free to drop it... melb-bass Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 Theres quite a few posts here i think. I remember reading them when doing my box. Most common is sub up port back. Or sub and port on same face. Its all gota do with soundwaves, and how air gets pushed around...iv noticed when my port has reasonable breathing space it sounds better.
