superdave07 Posted October 15, 2011 Report Share Posted October 15, 2011 I can understand both ways of thinking. I have ran several cheaper components and been very happy with them. Right now my daily has one set of RE XXX 6.5" components on 400watts. And they are very impressive. They keep up pretty well. I also have a poly glass set of focal components in my hatch, and i would honestly say the RE's keep up with them. The focals seem to be able to play a little higher freq. but the RE have the low end of "midbass" The focals are around $700 online, where as the RE's are $230-300 online. It really pays off to spend a little more. You could do like one set of RE or something similar and a coax set of 4s?
