munkeycheez Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 I have 1 12'' Rockford Fosgate P3 Subwoofer in an enclosed box wired at 2 Ohms, with a Planet Audio 1000w 2-Channel Amp. It hits nice but not to full potential. I was just wondering if I should get like a Mono RF Amp or something.. I'm not sure what to get. (Trying to keep price range under $300) Also : With my enclosed box with no ports, for louder and harder kick but less quality go with ported? Thanks
Guest Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 first off, sealed boxes arent louder than ported boxes. and ported boxes dont give you "less quality" unless they're p.o.s boxes that you buy that are pre-built at best buy or frys or some other electronics store. the best box is the one that you get a design for that is suited for the woofer and build yourself. prefabs (pre-built boxes) wont work with 99% of the woofers on the market today. heres an amp you can use for ONE p3. if you upgrade woofers you're going to have to upgrade the amp. http://www.audiosavings.com/products/Mono-Car-Amplifier/ALPINE-MRP-M500-500-WATT-RMS-MONO-CAR-AMPLIFIERAMP-KIT/MRPM500---WK41.aspx

I know Sealed are not as loud but better quality, Ported are louder less quality

pa-pa-platypus Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 ported boxes dont produce quality bass? news to me lol ported boxes can sound amazing if theyre built properly This isn't teeball. YOU DO NOT GET A TROPHY JUST BECAUSE YOU SHOW UP. Put the work in and then maybe get the respect when it has been earned 151.6 with single 12 at 41 hz 153.2 with 2 12's at 43 hz power: dd m4

I know Sealed are not as loud but better quality, Ported are louder less quality you dont have good grammar so i couldnt understand what you were saying. but no, if ported boxes had less sound quality, why do 99% of the members on here (excluding bandpass) have ported boxes? and no you dont want a 2 channel. get a monoblock. that hifonics that adam linked to would be fine for 2 p3's.
