Hello everyone. I'm new to the forums. I found this site by checking out videos on YouTube about speaker installs.

I recently bought a new ride. A 2012 Kia Forte. I want to install some new interior speakers as well as an amp and sub. Below are my questions.

I really like the interior of the Kia Forte and want to keep the factory radio installed. I have seen the aftermarket kits and radios but I still want to keep the factory look. I was told that a "LINE OUT CONVERTER" can be added to the back of the factory radio so I can install an amp and sub. I was also told that if I did install the line out converter I wouldn't get the sound of an after market radio and that the factory radio wouldn't have enough power to sound good. Any of this true?

My local speaker shop carries brands like Treo, Diamond, Digital Designs, and a couple of other brand speakers and subs. I want to upgrade the interior speakers to something way better but I'm undecided. I also have a sub box that was given to me that holds a single 15 inch sub. Of the 3 subs I know they carry, what is a good mid level 15 inch sub to start off with? What about for interior speakers?

Could I run aftermarket interior speakers, a single 15 inch sub, and an amp using the line out converter from my factory installed radio? What are the disadvantages?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure if the box was made specifically for the 15 inch sub my friend had. He no longer has the sub only the box and he was going to trash it. So I snatched it up from him. If needed I can have one built for a 15 I want. No problem.

You got to make a specific box for each sub. 412 CVX can make you a box for very little money.

No problem. I havent decided on what sub I want to get. But when I do I'll ask about the box.

Welcome to the forum Atrocity79, there are a lot of helpful people here on the forum so make use of it and learn as much as possible! Your are now crossing into the dark side of car audio and before you know it you will be pleasantly addicted to bass and anyone else's stock system will no longer be up to par with what you will have. woot.gif
