nbshazeezee
I just bought an HO alt that doesn 170 at 1200rpms and 70 at Idle. This is to replace my stock that is 90 amp, which i dont know what it does at idle. Im really hoping this makes a difference. matt@mechman
OEM alternators are generally rated at 1800 rpm engine speed. There are lots of different 90 amp OEM units, some have better idle output than others. If your 170 amp high output unit is based in the same housing as the 90 amp OEM unit, expect it to have less actual idle output than your stock alternator has.
