45 Corners

i am gonna start to build a box for 2 12's soon. how wide do i have to make the 45" corner's? i know they need the be the height if the box but how wide. would 3 inches be enough? also would i just brad nail them through the sides of the box.

i made mine 3 inches if i remember correctly and all i did was glue it, no nails or screws or nething, just a healthy coat of glue

thanks. my wife is excited about the new build but scared as hell. she loves they way her 10's sound but she'll learn to love the 12's. (i hope)
