I'm thinking about mine. Probably going to end up with a blow through on mine instead of a wall, but I'm not planning on competing, so would a center port be better for me? Seems like the port between the seats would've freed up air flow too. I'm just wondering is all. no worries man lol you can ask away!! i wil hopefully have answers haha well from what i have heard cramming the port area as close to the meter as possible will be loudest on the meter because they basically crush the air making the dbs...now yes i have loading issues which i am currently fixing....keep those fingers crossed...though i have seen no serious issues yet i would like to get it taken care of. for musical use yes i would have either done a port horizontally or vertically between the subs but like i said from what i have heard from some credible sources (lol) on the meter the way i have it will be best. another main reason why i have it that way is because of drivability...this is still my daily driver and my only vehicle so i can recline all the way into the box and have my seat a few inches back from where the passenger seat can be so for my big ass its nice honestly Thinking more about it, you could have them laid out like this: O[ ]O O[ ]O O[ ]O That way it would load more evenly off the seats. yes i do agree but for comps i can always take the seats out lol they have been unbolted for like 3-4 months now so its not an issue just picking them up and taking them out for metering purposes. Probably going to end up with a blow through on mine instead of a wall, but I'm not planning on competing, so would a center port be better for me? yes for sure without a doubt in my mind a center port for that instance. just for loading..i can see my subs so it helps a lot and i can control the issue if that makes sense...if you watch any of the videos you can watch me staring at the subs to make sure all was well because i was pushing past where i felt comfortable every demo lol and you wont be able to see yours so the loading issue may be multiplied just do to that simple fact. skyhighcaraudio Posted March 8, 2012 Author Report Posted March 8, 2012 Hey guys sorry for the no progress ive been insanely busy working 15-17 hour days a few days a week plus school so i havent really got much done on the truck. I have been building up the angle wall and back step up part of the box and testing and testing and testing...its a really slow process because everytime a layer gets added to the angle wall all subs have to come out as well as the port then they all go back in and test and over and over again....so its about a days worth of work before it all gets done and tested (then they all have to come out again to actually glue the wood down on the angle wall if it gains) then repeat. thats happened 5 times now and the angle wall is about an inch from the passenger side subs so ive taken about 4 cubes from the box now and gaining some cone control as well as handling my box rise from before.
