Is this even a logic box?

Recommended Posts

Got 4 audiobahn alum10n and currently the box I have them in is a sealed box..2 are on the face plate and 2 are on the top....the top ones are causing problems to my 6x9s...so I'm thinking about building a ported box for them...but I don't even know if this is wise to make a box like this one...

Box tuned to 35hz...for I don't listen to much deep bass rap songs...mostly dubstep and techno..

Picture listed below. Thank you for your input.

I wouldn't recommend building it.

You will sound better if you take two woofers and put them in a dope box rather than cramming four woofers into a half ass box. If you don't have the room you don't have the room. Two ported Vs Four sealed is another topic all together and I think the dubstep techno stuff may sound more natural and better using double the cone in a sealed box rather than the ported. Either way, Don't build that.

Can't use just 2 woofers...my amp will blow them...reason I have 4 in there is to distribute the watts among the all.

Change your wiring.

If your wiring stays the same you will never add or subtract power per woofer.

4ohm woofer 4ohm 500w = 500w per woofer

x2 4ohm woofers 2ohm 1000w = 500w per woofer

x4 4ohm woofers 1ohm 2000w = 500w per woofer

make sense?

-Drew

**numbers are all examples actual results may vary

****YOUR WOOFERS ARE DUAL 6OHM?

Yeah they're dual 6 ohms...I only paid $129 for 4 of them..I'm not expecting a whole lot lol..I already know they are NOT 800RMS each..maybe 600rms

It looks like four wire to .7ohm or 3ohm while two will wire to 1.5 or 6ohm all while your amp peaks at 1ohm

Have you tried wiring all eight coils to .7? how is your electrical? with all those coils you can expect some good Impedance rise and you may be able to get away with the low wiring as long as your gains are set appropriately and you are not running your voltage into the ground.

I got them all currently wired at 3 ohms...I don't want to push my single HIF2000D Hifonics amp that hard...considering it is only 1 ohm stable. My electrical is fine..I have the big 3 upgrade...more than enough grounds...imo to much ground...220 amp alt...at 4000rpm.

Well damn.

You have the electrical to get silly but its not the best subs/amp matchup.

I ran my bxi1606 wired at .5 on a pair of 18s for a few months- It popped into protect if I didn't warm up the coils first but other than that it was sweet.

GL with the boxes and wiring ideas, just don't put two on the outside haha it would sound terrible.

Well I am making another design if you'd like to judge that one, you opinion will be greatly appreciated...if I'm not mistaken...you have a youtube video of your cavilar, right?

New build coming soon.

Post up the next design! Its not a cavalier, but I assume you are correct because 90% of the time it is mistaken for a Cavalier. Yeah I have a handful off Videos of Blue, Lola, and the Jeep on my youtube.
