Byrne Posted December 21, 2011 Report Share Posted December 21, 2011 Hi, Could I please get some advice in going about getting a home theater amplifier repaired. Ok, so a 15" 1500watt sub was hooked up to a DENON home theater amplifier. After a few minutes the system cut out with a pop, I tried turning it back on but the power button flashes red. Tried turning it on and off at the wall, disconnecting and then reconnecting the cables but still nothing. All my connections are fine. I've been told a transistor may have been blown or possibly burnt out other components... If anyone's had this issue or know anything of some assistance I'd be happy to listen. Socky Posted December 21, 2011 Report Share Posted December 21, 2011 Check the fuse, this had happened to me before on a Sony home theater receiver, kept blowing fuses, then the repair people put a bigger one in, and it melted my speaker terminals off the back off it, then i got a upgrade receiver ftw! Byrne Posted December 22, 2011 Author Report Share Posted December 22, 2011 This is the first time it's happened so yeah, I get the impression it's a blown fuse because when I turn it on, it turns on for 2 seconds then switches off into protection mode.
