thegoof529
My buddy has a 2000 dodge 1500 gas. They traded out head units & changed the door panel speakers. Now the truck won't start! The lights come on in the cab, but the radio won't work and the engine doesn't even try to crank! Please help! He can't get home.

SoCaLBaMF
I believe its a security feature, so if someone steals the headunit, they cant start the truck. I think you have to probably have to take it to a dealer and get the computer reset IIRC. TravisStuchl
I would put it all back the way it was if it starts then it was something you did if it dont start might have just been its time. It might be something with security. (shortly after that it was stolen lol)

We un-plugged the battery for over an hour hoping that it would reset the computer or something. that didn't work. they are working on just putting back the way it is. JEMT8
Jiggling the shifter should always be your first step if your car don't start could be easy as it not being all the way in park or a neutral safety switch Quote formerly known as Jaylor Swift
