2000, Dodge 1500 Wiring issues! Urgent

Recommended Posts

My buddy has a 2000 dodge 1500 gas. They traded out head units & changed the door panel speakers. Now the truck won't start! The lights come on in the cab, but the radio won't work and the engine doesn't even try to crank! Please help! He can't get home.

and yes we have checked fuses

oh and he added a 1,000 watt amp

I believe its a security feature, so if someone steals the headunit, they cant start the truck. I think you have to probably have to take it to a dealer and get the computer reset IIRC.

I would put it all back the way it was if it starts then it was something you did if it dont start might have just been its time. It might be something with security.

that was our first thought, But we were not quite sure. another friend of mine has a 2500 diesel and he switched out head units just fine. (shortly after that it was stolen lol)

We un-plugged the battery for over an hour hoping that it would reset the computer or something. that didn't work. they are working on just putting back the way it is.
