SOLID STATE DRIVES. Any tried one out in a car yet??

I've been roaming through www.compusa.com lately to get some DDR3 ram to upgrade my computer when I came across a hard drive type that are common in some laptops and gaming computers called solid state drives. In the past the idea has been tossed around with some success of using a conventional external hard drive (I have one but I'm not willing to reformat it anytime soon). The initial problem is, when you hit a bumpy road, not only will it skip.. but even worse you MAY damage the disk all together. Is there a possibility this will be a solution to this because it's a set of chips opposed to a disk? and should SSD formated correctly work in a car?

I have a 500gig in my car with movies, pics and music. U just have to format it the right way. I had to use fat32 but if u do that u can only use 32 gigs. I did a search online and found a format that is fat32 but tricks the radio into using all 500. Ill have to search tomorrow and find out what its called

I was thinking of putting a hard drive in my vehicle but was unsure of how the hard drive would react to bumps and shock. A solid state drive would totally eliminate all of that worry, good thinking!
