I'm looking at an '05 Silverado ext cab right now...thinking about buying a camper cab for it for my DJ business, but I was also wondering, do they seal off good enough that I can get a couple blankets & bowl of water to leave in the back for my puppies when I take them on trips? Would it help to buy a small 12 volt heater to leave in there? Just figured I'd ask. Two puppies in the back seat of a truck (which will have a system of some sort, by the way... ) doesn't sound like a good idea for a 5-6 hour trip...

I'm assuming you mean the seal around the bottom where it attaches to the bed correct? Well if so its going to depend on the camper shell/bed liner. If you get a cheap shell I doubt it seals well...also having a bed line is going to affect it. (For example if you have just straight paint it probably will not seal as well as if you have a plastic or rhino lined bed because of the added rubber/plastic in-between the metal and the shell) Really even if it doesn't seal "well" you could always add some weather stripping and it will be 100% fine.

Also, Dogs have fur for a reason. To stay warm. Although I am a dog person and I would probably throw some blankets back there for them to lay on (or even some straw)...and water is always nice unless you plan on making stop to let them out and get them a drink.
