I just convinced a buddy of mine to buy my Polk PSW10 (Home theater) subwoofer, so I'm starting a small subwoofer box build, consisting of a Fosgate R2D2 (250wrms sub) powered by a BASH 300wrms plate amp... I've never really dealt with actual painting of any sort, but I want to paint this enclosure black, and I want it to shine like a MOFO (I usually carpet everything). It's going to be a very simple build, as I just don't have the equipment to make it insane (All my tools are left at home 120 miles away) so I have a question... What's the best way to make MDF glossy as hell? Can I just primer it to death, sand, paint, and clear coat? Or do I have to throw down some fiberglass or something first? (I plan on fiberglassing the inside for extra strength) Thanks in advance for the help.
