markbuhler007
I was told i needed 2 inches of clearance for the port opening... and my box is almost a direct mold of my trunk... i have mabey an inch in the back of the box.. but i was planing on running 3 4 inch or 3 5 inch aeroports leaning twords the 5inch... fecupe2001
i don´t know if there´s even 5" pvc, but, if you don´t have room for that pair of 15´s without loosing the back seat, why don´t you sell them and get a pair of 12´s? just my point of view... CleanSierra
I commend you for digging an 8 month old thread regarding a sub that you're not even running or considering running. A new topic would have probably been an easier way to go about getting useful information though. You got lucky and got some help from one of the BEST guys on the forum. Listen to him, he knows what he's talking about. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
markbuhler007
Thanks I guess! I use this set up for spl comp... i had 2 12s and i still have a bunch of 12s, i buy and sell audio... but with the 15s im getting much more spl out of them. Heres the link for the 5 inch aero ports... I just found them today I have 3 4 inch aeros already at my house... but i think the 5 inch ones might be the way to go. Would port up sub forward be a better option? And thanks for the help!' markbuhler007
Would sub forward port up be a better option than the sup up port forward that i have now? I possibly could do port to the side.. but havnt seen that good of results from that eather...
fecupe2001
yes it would be way better, still isn´t the best configuration for that car but trust me, you are gonna get louder, if you have the box right now, why don´t you just try it backwards with the subs forward and port up to see if you really gain before building a new box? markbuhler007
The box cant be turned around... its almost like a preform box like mtx makes except i built it my self... getting 7 cubes out of a first gen eclipse and still having a rear window with being behind the c pillar is not easy! The box is built for multiple set ups i can run single 18 sub forward port up... or dual 15 or 12s... port forward Do aeroports need the 2 inch clearance? I cant rember where i read that but it would make sense to me.
