ette Posted January 1, 2012 Report Posted January 1, 2012 just wondering if anyone could help me with calculating box sizes i never realised you had to properly design the box for the sub anyway i got a pioneer champion series sub its 1000w rms and ive built a box 16" high 16" wide and 10" deep im going to put in a 2x2 port 9 inches deep wondering if anyone could tell me if thats alright i used the calculator in the other forum that says it should be 33hz but i dont even know how many hz would sound good? any help would be appriciated
Bump4life Posted January 1, 2012 Report Posted January 1, 2012 nott bee good. your port area is way to small id give it 30 plus square inches of port area and stick to around 15 square inches per cube. tuning of 33 hz is ok but what kinda car is it going in? ette Posted January 1, 2012 Author Report Posted January 1, 2012 ok so ive worked out my box is just over 1 sq foot so i have had a look on the box calculator thats pinned up in this forum and it says there 4"x4 and 8 inch deep is just about right but at the bottom its saying thats 65hz ? is there any reason im aiming for 33hz ? seems to be the magic number in this forum
