I know my car is an odd car its a 2000 Kia sephia and my stock alt is going out randomly it drops to like 13volts then as soon as just tap the gas it goes back up to 14.1. I guess I will get to the point now is there any mods better alternators any thing that will help. I have looked around and haven't found much. letemrip32 Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 I agree, the Big 3 would help, i still have to get a hold of 1/0 gauge wire to do mine with but that'll keep your electrical system stronger. Kia's don't have the strongest alternators because they aren't meant to drag a lot of electronics that suck power, and the wires routing through are prolly no bigger than 8 gauge. Go to AudioSavings.com and check out the wire there, 17ft of 0 gauge Cadence wire is $27.95. I'm not sure how great the wire is because i haven't used that kind before, i have Scoche powering my amp. but i'm only running 8 gauge for power wire, so i have to upgrade as well. And the stock wiring job had no engine ground. That shows that they were cheap when it came to wiring. Whatever you do, don't buy junk from china LOL, they'll sell you power wire that's 0 gauge, but when you get it, you get maybe 8 gauge worth of actual wire, then the rest is insulation. But affordable power wire i'd go with scosche or cadence brand.
