My stepdad uses those up at his shop (and charges like $40 for a set of them) . But anyways he always told me they are to create airspace for the mids rather than the sound being dissipated in the door internals. However, they are waterproof. Slap your speakers in there and run a bead of caulk around the outside and you should be good!
