  1. Start at the amp and work your way to the front. With everything off pull the rca's from the amp, then turn it all back on and see if the noise is still there, if not then the problem is further up. If the problem is there with the rca's out of the amp then the problem is at the amp.(ground, ect.) If you have no noise then put the rca's back in the amp with everything off. Then pull the rca's from the hu with everything off, then turn it all on and see if you have the noise. If no noise then the problem is at the hu. If you have the noise the problem is with the rca's. Try this and report back
  2. Personally I'd get an 8" or 10" whichever you could port. Edit. Could you possibly do an external aero?
  3. I have made plenty of boxes for my hdc3 12's I tried all placements I could think of and I keep going back to one box. Side firing aeros (four 4" aeros) forward firing subs. I'd say about 4.5 cubs net. Two 6" or Four 4" aeros or 1 8" aero. As for the placement you will just have to try different styles. My car seems to like side firing port and subs towards the front or back not much of a difference for daily but forward firing seems to be a little better and not as much trunk flex. Hope that helps some.
  4. Actually, throwing it into Torres it's ok with tuning frequency. It tells me 37.60. The port AREA per foot however is way too low, only 9.54 sq inches per cube of air. Plus it's over 6 cubes per woofer. Not sure what RD recommnends, but that MIGHT be on the high side. Wow wouldnt have guessed it was tuned to 37 lol. But yes he needs more port and probably a slightly smaller box like you said.
  5. If your port is only 6.25" long that's your problem. You're tuned too high. If I were at home I'd give you specs.
  6. Hold on, so the mojo's are 12"s? And the box is 8 cubes for two? with 2 4" and 1 8" aero? If <<< this is correct, ditch the box. It would be wayyy to big for 2 12s.
  7. My best guess for the 3 ports is he might have ran 2 4's daily and the 8" at comps.? Hopefully. But 2 4" aeros is small as fuck(in port area) I have 4 4" aeros in a 4 cuft box.
  8. Just curious how did you figure you were tuned to 29-30 when torres said 37?
  9. Lol. Yeah, just get a good set of components for your doors and you should be good to go.
  10. I have only a front stage and love it. I have no rear fill what so ever. Imo there's no need for rear fill unless you really care about passengers in the rear. But if you go that route get a good front stage. Edit: yes you can cover the holes were the speakers are in the back deck, if you take them out
  11. This^^^^. Also when you say SD amps I think of soundigital. SA is what people use to abreviate Sundown audio
  12. Awesome info here man, thanks for sharing.
  13. I'm really curious what the real tuning is and what kind of port area it has. OP you should take measurements of the box and port.
  14. Honestly man it's your system dude. If you're happy with it leave it be, ya know.? Whenever you feel like upgrading just build another box and run the specs by us on here before hand.
  15. Get a piece of mdf and cover it up if it sounds better then make it look good.
  16. With direct leads no need to worry about solder. But 9 times out of 10 subs dont have direct leads and your idea sounds like a nifty one for competitors that dont have time to solder.
  17. Give complete dimensions on box. Height width depth. Then repeat but with the port. Then we can help you alot more. I'm willing to bet you might have miscalculated your port area(too small) and tuning. And like said above^^^ box is rather small.
  18. Both ideas sound great to me, but I am no engineer and have no clue if it's pratical and will even work.? But none the less good ideas.
