Check with dd on the m4s maximum operating voltage before you do 16v..I know m series are sesigned for 12v... when I ran 14 to15v they ran warm at 13 14v they were cold ....plus new m4as protect at 15.3 I never got m4 to protect from voltage but high voltage is bad for electronics for daily..it turns to heat sir

if you run 16+ volts charging I recommend step down module(s) and a 12v batt up front to keep your vehicle electrical safe.

"should be safe" is very different than IS safe in my opinion.

CURRENT SYSTEM:

  • Alternator:
    1. Stock alt on mids/highs
    2. Isolated DC Power 270 SP - Charging @ 16.8v
  • Batteries: (2) XS D1400s
  • Power Cable: Double Runs of 1/0 KNU Kolossus Fleks
  • Headunit: 80-PRS
  • Sub Amp: DC 5.0k
  • Subwoofers: 2 RE MT 15s /PSI dual .7ohm recones
  • Subwoofer Enclosure: 9.1cubes @ 32hz - brutal.
  • Mids & Highs Amp: CT125.4
  • Active Components:
    • Mids RE XXX 6.5c
    • Highs - 3 RE XXX tweeters per side(A pillar)
  • Noise Control: Damplifier Pro all over the cab.

Id run it 12v with the electrical to support 500 amps... at least a 270amp alt and 3 or more 3100s.... charge them at 15v..and wire the amp to .7...an there aren't any m2s lvl5s yet.. id do m2xls or m2lvl4s
