SQMonte Posted January 27, 2012 Report Posted January 27, 2012 Just ordered a Singer alt and I've heard sometimes that you have to change the belt due to it not fitting right on the new alt/pulley setup. I found the stock belt for my car, 04 Monte Carlo 3.4L, is 70.5" long. Singer said if need be I should get one 1/2" shorter and suggested Gatorback. Problem is the belt I would otherwise use is #4060705 and has 6 ribs....no 70" 6 rib belts, but they do have a 60" 7 rib belt...would that be a problem? If so, what other belt would be suggested?
