fox_racin4
so, just got my new batts in ( kinetic HC2400s x4 ) and the terminals arnt excatly square to the batt so the terminals are a bit "twisted/bent" heres a ppic with my fantastic paint skillzz http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c55/fox_racin4/kineticproblem.jpg so my question is, i made buss bars accross all batts but all the terminals are twisted differnt ways, i was able to get bolts into the terminals but i cant tell how much of the buss.bar is acctually touching the "pad" of the battery. would just having the bolt screwed into the batt be ok? not sure if this question makes much sence.. 1998 gmc extd cab 12 crossfire C710s 4 SAZ-4500s 3 Singer 400A altsbuncha mids/highs Team Asshole
skittlesRgood
are they bent as bad as they are in the paint pic? ive never noticed bent terminals before... did you buy used? is there any cracking around the terminal? i would be more worried about the battery being ok at this point. fox_racin4
i cant see if the buss.bars are making full contact and its not like they can "flex" to fit the "pad" ( 1"thick x5"wide x40"long aluminum bars) 1998 gmc extd cab 12 crossfire C710s 4 SAZ-4500s 3 Singer 400A altsbuncha mids/highs Team Asshole
skittlesRgood
well, not a whole lot you can do then but make sure the connection on the top of the bolt is as good as it can be. maybe you could find copper foil and make a ring out of that. then when you tighten the bar down it'll smash the soft ring and make a better contact. just a spitball idea. fox_racin4
Thats another idea i had but i cant find copper locally I tried getting the bolt that screws into terminal as far in as possible (without bottomig out) so that the bolt had a good "contact" inside the terminal 1998 gmc extd cab 12 crossfire C710s 4 SAZ-4500s 3 Singer 400A altsbuncha mids/highs Team Asshole
AMI CUSTOMS
The bolt will make enough contact as long as the hole in the bar it is going thru is same size, like it it is a 3/8 diameter bolt it needs to be a 3/8 size hole and not 1/2 inch hole. Whothennow
Small aluminum washer under each terminal man. Should take up the little bit of slack.
