MarcoCaparrotta
Hey guys, so my friend recently got a truck and we had a JL 1000/1, JL W7, and an alpine deck installed. It was fine for a few months, but now when we turn the volume up, the bass cuts out and a light on the amp comes on that says "Low V". Does that mean low voltage? Do you thing if we put in an optima yellow top in it will solve the problem? thanks here is a video of the system
Rebel4055
Low voltage yes. Could be shitty ground. Gain maxed out causing major voltage drop. Quote Rest In Peace mother. Rebel4055
Not if the problem is how the amp was installed. Take a picture of the ground location you guys used. Also how was the amp gained? Quote Rest In Peace mother. carshateme
A bad ground will definitively cause the "Low V" light to come on...since it's not a complete circuit, it's not receiving the correct amount of voltage. Like the rebel said, take a picture. We'll decide rather or not that's the case. Remember, a ground is best when it's against pure shiny metal or some kind of conductor. If paint is on it...it's not a good ground. Quote New build coming soon. It needs to be in a place where it doesn't go into spot welds. Quote Rest In Peace mother.
