knightsfs4
Hey, This is my first post and I need some help. I have 2 12" Type R's @ 2Ohms and a Kicker 750.1. I first had them in a box and ended up blowing the box since it was so loud. I went to best buy and put one together myself and it was great until the rattle came to this box too. Now I need a new box but a good quality box that'll make them sound good. They're going in a 2006 4Runner. What kind of box should I get and how should it be tuned? Thanks Jack
LovellD
You said you went to Best Buy, but put one together yourself? I'm confused. Did you make a custom box or buy one? You just want dat big boom dat make dem bitchez panteez drop. Next time you report someone make sure the one getting the report isnt the one you reported. carshateme
You said you went to Best Buy, but put one together yourself? I'm confused. Did you make a custom box or buy one? Best buy has those boxes that you just glue together/screw together...already pre-made wood with the cut pieces. Like meijers and walmart crap. To answer your question, you're gonna want to buy 3/4 mdf particle board *Home Depot, menards, lowes* approx $28-$34. Tuning depends on what you want to hear...this is all worthless information if you're not building your own box... You may want to contact some guys on this forums that do custom boxes, gonna be around $150-$200 though....I think. Edited February 7, 2012 by carshateme Quote New build coming soon. knightsfs4
I'm not gonna build one myself and I wanna stay under $100 if I can. I just want a box that can handle the 8-900 RMS I have coming out of the subs and still sound nice.

Yes, they come with the sides, already cut, with some sticky adhesive spray and some sound damping material that you put in the corner pieces and a set of screws...they suck...literally. LovellD
Good sounding systems are mostly about the boxes. Custom will beat pre-fab any day, when built properly. If you're really serious about sounding good, you'll shell out the extra money for a custom box. Quote 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GT Click to see my build log! knightsfs4
Could you build one for me? How much is shipping usually? You carpet it right? I'd want it ported, cause I heard sealed sucks in an open space SUV like mine.
