VEHICLE CRITERIA

1. All vehicles in Lightweight Division must remain OEM stock from the vehicle’s “B” pillar forward. External and internal aftermarket add-ons such as body kits, wings, wheels, aftermarket seats, steering wheels or any automotive related cosmetic and performance items not related to the vehicle‟s 12 volt electrical or sound system are allowed.

2. Door and kick panel build outs for speaker installations, and custom door panels for cosmetic purposes are allowed for the purpose of increasing sound quality only. Any speaker installation in a custom door or kick panel build, for the purposes of increasing SPL, is not allowed.

3. All windows in the vehicle forward of the vehicle’s “B” pillar, designed by the manufacturer must function as the manufacturer intended them to; nothing may impede their proper operation. OEM glass may not be replaced with any transparent substitute material.

4. All subwoofers and enclosures must be mounted behind the B pillar of the vehicle and no part of the enclosure or equipment can extend forward of the B pillar.

5. Vehicles equipped with OEM factory “fold down” rear seats may be folded down during testing.

EQUIPMENT CRITERIA

1. Maximum square inches of total cone area allowed is 720 sq. in. (13-8” woofers, 9-10” woofers, 6-12” woofers, 4 - 15” woofers, or a combination of any size woofer equaling, but not exceeding 720 sq. in.)

2. Exterior speakers - The system must have a minimum of 100 square inches of full range speaker playing the music externally from the vehicle during competition. Coax, component, horns or pro audio speakers are allowed. Midrange/tweeter component sets are considered as one pair.

3. Exterior speakers do not have to be permanently mounted to the vehicle, but must be properly and securely mounted when competing; the speakers can be mounted anywhere in, on or around the vehicle, so long as they are able to be clearly heard outside. Exterior speakers not permanently attached to the vehicle must be properly mounted in some type of enclosure.

4. Cardboard boxes, foam molds, sitting on cushions, etc... are not considered an acceptable enclosure for exterior speakers.

5. Exterior speakers must be powered by a minimum 200 watt amplifier. It can be the same amplifier that powers the inside speakers. Source unit power (CD/MP3 player) is not acceptable as the amplifier for the external speakers.

6. There are no minimum or maximum power requirements for interior speakers or subwoofers.

7. All equipment must be commercially available and can not be modified in any way.

8. There is no limit to the amount of amplifiers a competitor may use.

9. Subwoofer walls are not allowed in this Division; any enclosure taller than 25 inches will be considered a wall.

SUBWOOFER ENCLOSURE/S

Enclosures must be mounted behind the vehicle‟s “B” pillar and cannot exceed 25 inches in height, including any supports or equipment attached to the enclosure.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Maximum allowed voltage is 12.9 volts idle (engine off) or 15.5 volts (engine running).

BATTERIES

There is no limit to the amount of batteries allowed in Lightweight Division. Batteries can be of any size, style or shape. Modified battery “banks” are allowed.

LIGHTWEIGHT DIVISION (261 to 720 sq. in - no walls)

261 to 720 sq. in. = 14 - 8s, 9 - 10s, 6 - 12s, 4 - 15 or 2 - 18 inch subwoofers
