mattc3366
well after deciding between 1 18 or 2 15s i decided to go with the 15s. im going to be going with obsidians. i need help designing a box because everytime i try to design one i cant get the port area/foot high enough. max dimensions are 16 height ( only about an inch above the window line) 31 width and 32 depth. its going into a 2000 civic hatch back. im flipping the seats down and building over the seats . id take them out but incase for some reason i ever need them back ill just have to remove the box. also wanting to do a removeable port for comps. i can go a little bigger on the depth but want to keep it around 32. thank you for any help! mattc3366
Thanks for the help. Do you happen to have a simple sketch up of what that would look like and you think id be ok with 5.5 cubic feet? Joe X
It's within spec but on the short side, 2.5 cubes minimum per sub 3.75 max, depends on the power you are driving those, for rated 3.75 is probably best if you are going to overdrive them then a smaller Vb is better, with space 3.2 per sub would probably be what i'd have aimed since subs hit the lows better with more airspace. Your configuration is not standard, so no sketch right now.. see if with some time I make some simple one for you later, if you want to give up some more depth let me know. mattc3366
Im gonna re measure when I get out of work. Im just gonna take the seat out instead of building over it. I know I can get like 36-38 depth if I do that. Maybe more. Joe X
Guess 3 cubes per sub will be good if your amp is strong, the two rod dowels as well as the double baffle are very important. Use flared ports thats also very important in this case. Let me know any questions. BTW nice subs for the money. rogue
Nice box Joe. I need to learn to use that sketchup better. It would take me less time to build a box than it would to draw it out on sketchup. I just cant get the hang of it.
