carshateme Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 (edited) Okay, gonna be running a 2.0k dc audio amp to 2 12" DC level 3 w level 4 softcone parts, Since it's being overpowered by like 100rms, I built the box at 1.25cu ft per sub, so I tried to shoot for 2.5cu ft volume wise. I also wanted to tune it at 32, I have it as a side port. Any criticism is appreciated. I am also open to suggests. Another question...did I do my port calculation right, having 2 common walls. Still a noob to torres calculations Edited February 26, 2012 by carshateme Quote New build coming soon. Guest Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 100w wont require a size reduction. you'll probably end up underpowering them anyway because electricity is a bitch. do 1.5 a piece. and # of common port walls has to be 3, not 2. and you put 2 EXTRA baffles in? that means you'll have 3 total, not 2. carshateme Posted February 26, 2012 Author Report Posted February 26, 2012 *facepalm* I think I'm just going to pay someone to do it then, I'm sick of doing all this math.. Guest Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 *facepalm* I think I'm just going to pay someone to do it then, I'm sick of doing all this math.. ...you do realize that the calc does EVERY piece of math for you? you just put in numbers and it tells you everything you need to know on the right hand side. everything is correct except for the things i told you. i could probably give this calc to an 8th grader and have him read the instructions and he'll give a good design by the end of the day Quote
carshateme Posted February 26, 2012 Author Report Posted February 26, 2012 Thanks, makes me feel a whole lot better. Quote New build coming soon.
Guest Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 (edited) why are you adding more baffles? now the calc thinks you have a 4 layer baffle. if you want just a double layer, put 1. Edited February 26, 2012 by Kranny Quote
carshateme Posted February 26, 2012 Author Report Posted February 26, 2012 (edited) Ah, I totally read what you said wrong, Forgive me. But hopefully I got it right this time. Should I try to shoot for more port area or is it okay for 13? Edited February 26, 2012 by carshateme Quote New build coming soon. That is what you said to put in..... no i didnt. i said put 3 in for common port walls. i said you told the calc to put in 2 extra baffles, so that would make the end result a triple layer baffle. not a double layer like you thought Quote
412 CVX Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 you misread his post. you have two baffles, so you want 1 extra baffle on top of the one you already have Quote Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs. My temp system build log More box buildssome cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches! I'm with captain stupid.
