Different Ported Enclosures

I have done some research on some different types of boxes. I have found two boxes that I'm content with. 

(1) is the basic T-Line/ Quarter Wavelength Box. From what I've read, you take the area of the cone (pi*r^2) and use that as your port area in inches^2 and you use the equation (1130/Fs/4*12) and that gives you the port length in inches. So this theory  is not really a box it's just a long port. 

(2) is a SPL Ported Box. For this you use the regular recommended box Vb and change the port to an 1/8 wavelength port. To do this you use the cone area again but you half it at the end ((pi*r^2)/2), this gives you it in inches^2. And for the port length you use the equation (1130/Fs/8*12).

My question is can anyone confirm/ deny these designs and which should I use for maximum SPL with perfect SQ (so SQ first and SPL second). I know that a basic sealed enclosure gives almost perfect SQ but I've read that a T-Line give the same in not better SQ and a huge gain in SPL, also it gives less distortion. I relies that Both boxes are huge and for me space is not an concern. Any help is greatly appreasheded.
