CAN YOU HANDLE THE POWER !

hello

ive got two re audio sxx 12s and soundstream 2500d amp.

im currently putting 2500rms in to the two subs. (1250 rms each sub)

the subs r getting warm quite quickly (UNDER 30 SECONDS) . is it due to the fact that im putting to much power into the subs when they only have a thermal power handling of 1000 watts ? or is to do with the box or a clipped signal ?

any other ideas ?

I would say your clipping them very badly. About how far up are your gains? Also if you have any bass boost on turn it all the way down.
