Joe X
what are the negative things of having the sub face up? Lost output and a lot of noise from the trunk lid getting hammered.
alexrouse
ok well thanks for the help. I'm going to try and build a box that will face the sub in the cabin but I'm not sure if i will be able to.
alexrouse
would the sub fit in tis box? 35 wide 17high 14 deep on top and 22 deep on bottom, I just don't know how to find out if the sub will fit with the angle or not. 3/4 in with 2 pieces on the mounting side. Joe X
Yes in a 17" tall box it will probably fit but I need to know the diameter of the magnet or it will hit the floor of the box with the wrong angle.
alexrouse
i cannot find the diameter of the magnet anywhere and it is currently in a box so i cannot measure it but when i do take it out i will measure it. how can you tell if it will fit with the angle? Joe X
You take the mounting depth an half the diameter of the magnet to know at what angle it will hit the floor, basically you have to model the mounting position factoring in the bottom sheet of MDF, it can't touch the bottom though so some clearance has to be considered.
