andygardner
I have an 03 ford Taurus with a Mach audio upgrade. My question is does anyone know if there are any factory amps? And when I replace my HU will I have any problems?
Robert8252
That entire amp/ brain of your radio is in the trunk. Driver side. Behind the side carpet panel. When you switch to a aftermarket head unit it will come with a 20 foot wiring harness. It runs from the dash to the amp in the trunk and some of its power from there and also bypasses the factory Mach amp entirely for the speaker connections. As long as you follow the instructions it should go pretty easy. I have tried two of the three made. There is schosche I believe, metra, and American something.... Mind blank. The American one is rare to find. I didn't like the schosche one. The metra is what I currently have and I'm ok with it. andygardner
Thank you. I couldn't get that one because I have the electronic climate control but metra makes one for that also.
Robert8252
You're lucky then. the eatc one is a lot nicer. Has factory style finish on it, plus i love a double din.
