monsta409 Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 no pic of it yet but I got if frm FI audio's forum cut out sheet it's the 15" BL.. i made a few noobie mistakes like not pre-drillin the holes but i did good on all of them except maybe a handful i eff'd up, didnt do too much damage just that you can see where it bubbled up frm where the nail is at and maybe 1-2 minor splits here and there so i put wood glue thru the splits and going to be putting liquid nail caulk on there today.. im needing to put the 45's in the corners but not sure how wide the pieces should be can you guys fill me in ??? much appreciated fellas

monsta409 Posted March 28, 2012 Author Report Posted March 28, 2012 ummm nope i just got the cut out sheet and headed to home depot to have it cut.... and started building not done yet still have the top piece to put on was just wondering if i could add those in there since it wasent on the cut sheet?
jrchevy87 Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 if you add them in it will change the tuning of your box, when you design a box you need to account for sub displacement, bracing displacement and anything else you'd have in your boxes airspace. the 45's arent necessary and if you add them it will raise your boxes tuning, now that its already assembled you have to ask yourself is it worth the higher tuning, u can make 3/4x3/4 strips and they wont take up much space but they wont work as efficiently Jeep Wrangler TJ Hardtop Build
monsta409 Posted March 28, 2012 Author Report Posted March 28, 2012 okay koo i guess ill just have to scratch that idea of the 45's ...it's my first box build ever i didnt want to dish out the $ for someone to build it for me cause we know that can be pricey... so i did it myself plus i just went off of what the cut-out sheet had.... box is tuned to 32hz
jrchevy87 Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 have you tried torres box calculator yet? it does all the math for you except figuring out bracing and sub displacement, its really user friendly and you can design your own box with custom tuning. I use it for all my boxes and they turn out great and peak right around where they were tuned(depending on cabin gain) Jeep Wrangler TJ Hardtop Build
