Lbox88
Good gas mileage but good luck if your rear bearings go, they're expensive as shit to replace. Also, if you plan on having some weight in the back of that I would start looking into helper springs or bags or something. My mom had one and groceries would make the back of hers drop. Driving on the highway though, car rides like your on a cloud. Quote UBL | Build Log

We (me and my dad) test drove it and you're exactly right, drives like being on a cloud, smooth, straight, and no speed wobbles lol. ch0sen
odds are the struts in the rear are the first to go, you can usually get them replaced for around 400 bucks from a shop, i just had all 4 replaced and before i did it i felt like i was driving a boat, when the guy showed me the old driver rear strut it would literally collapse on its own weight lol Quote My current 95 Jetta Build w/ pioneer h/u 2 RD Sonance 10's with flatwind coils 2 Audiopipe apsm 1500.1s 1 Hifonics Brutus Elite 60x4 1 XS d925 1 Stinger spv35 1 1000 amp lead acid 50 ft of 0/1 ofc from Audiotechnix all powerbass components, and coaxils, 4 sets buildlog = http://www.stevemead...2-rd-10s-build/ My build for my wife. http://www.stevemead...01-f-150-build/

ch0sen
yea i have a 95 so they are the same struts, but you can wait till the start to knock when you hit any bumps or anything like that, the fronts ones are the ones you need to get fixed right away, they'll screw up more than just the struts if you dont Quote My current 95 Jetta Build w/ pioneer h/u 2 RD Sonance 10's with flatwind coils 2 Audiopipe apsm 1500.1s 1 Hifonics Brutus Elite 60x4 1 XS d925 1 Stinger spv35 1 1000 amp lead acid 50 ft of 0/1 ofc from Audiotechnix all powerbass components, and coaxils, 4 sets buildlog = http://www.stevemead...2-rd-10s-build/ My build for my wife. http://www.stevemead...01-f-150-build/

ch0sen
93-98 jettas are almost all the same, there are some minor difference but most parts are the same Quote My current 95 Jetta Build w/ pioneer h/u 2 RD Sonance 10's with flatwind coils 2 Audiopipe apsm 1500.1s 1 Hifonics Brutus Elite 60x4 1 XS d925 1 Stinger spv35 1 1000 amp lead acid 50 ft of 0/1 ofc from Audiotechnix all powerbass components, and coaxils, 4 sets buildlog = http://www.stevemead...2-rd-10s-build/ My build for my wife. http://www.stevemead...01-f-150-build/
97Jetta1637
93-98 jettas are almost all the same, there are some minor difference but most parts are the same yah i know that, that car is long gone since i moved in with my dad. i loved my jetta's but i now own a 99 buick my 95 jetta (red one) had a bad tranny, exhaust (everything), and the steering column was going bad at only 82k miles. the exhaust i would of needed a whole new one, the transmission needed rebuilt, and the steering column was fine for awhile, but i hated everything about that car. so far the buick drives like a cloud, and seems to have a bigger trunk than both the 97 and 95 jetta, not combined of course.
