Ba55h3ad651 Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 Hey I'm a noob at making boxes so I was wondering if some you could help me. Ok I'm getting a 15 dc XL with aq 2200 and Im trying to make a very loud daily driver and I always get lost on the tuning part. But the space I have is 33 wide 17 high and 18 long and I'm trying tune it to 33-38 hz. Thanks in advance to all that help me Quote
Joe X Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 (edited) Let's say port/ sub forward since you are not telling which vehicle and 35Hz tuning to start and everything can be changed later: Enclosure Specifications: Fb = 35 Hz Vb = 3.447 ft^3 External Height = 17 in External Width = 34 in External Depth = 18 in Port Width = 3 1/2 in Cut Sheet List: * All Dimensions in Inches. * Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts. External Enclosure Parts: 2 x Front & Back (3 parts) = 34 x 17 Left & Right Sides = 15 3/4 x 15 1/2 Top & Bottom = 34 x 15 3/4 L Port Internal Assembly Parts: Front to Back = 12 1/4 x 15 1/2 Extension = 8 1/4 x 15 1/2 Assembles like this: This may need bracing so this is just preliminar. Joe X Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 It will be good for that car, if you can do angled cuts and can get some rod dowels I would suggest you some bracing. Quote
Joe X Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 For doing 45s in the corners, like this: Quote
Ba55h3ad651 Posted April 13, 2012 Author Report Posted April 13, 2012 Oh alright see I don't have a table saw or anything I got a circler saw n that's it Quote
Joe X Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 So just try to round the inner corner of the port as shown by sanding it, will help a bit the port performance. Quote
