Most of the time we dont have enough storage, ie: batts, so the voltage dips, then the alt tries to make up for it, sending higher than normal voltages to our nice pretty batts. I know.. ... ... ... .. bullshit.. .. But it happens, how much power were you running? what size wire? where was that batt grounded? was it a great ground? what size ground is done up front? is it a great ground? Where does it go to? where is your amp grouded? As far as taking it out... Ive seen them last for almost a year after they swell.
