iceman1575
Trying to decide the most logical option for my stereo system. Anyone know what the biggest size battery will fit in 99-06 GM full-size vehicles with the 5.3 V8 (battery should be in the front left facing forward on the vehicle) and could recommend a good starter replacement battery? If I can get by with a big enough battery and a large enough alt (200+ amp) it would help, but I don't care to run a second battery (presumably in the rear of the truck I guess...lol Quote POTATO! Brandon15zzz
I have a Deka 9a34. But my buddy removed his battery tray and moved his computer over and set a Deka 9a31 there. Loslam
Yeah you could do whatever size you wanted as long as you rigidly brace it or make something for it to sit in. But I'm pretty sure an XS D3400 is the biggest that is made to fit Quote 1997 Chevrolet Silverado Extended Cab, 350 Vortec Things to come at some point... Eh, I'd rather not risk frying my truck up. Yeah you could do whatever size you wanted as long as you rigidly brace it or make something for it to sit in. iceman1575
Alright, I guess I'm going to fit the biggest battery I can, as I found out there were two slots for batteries in the engine compartment for these trucks, so I'm going to give putting two in the engine compartment, with possibly a small "aux" battery in the rear of the cab. Probably gonna give Kinetik a try...shouldn't harm anything, should it? Quote POTATO!
Brandon15zzz
It will be fine. Post pics when you upgrade. I'll be putting a 9a31 In the stock location eventually just don't feel like doing it. That bracket on the passenger side is going to be a PITA to work around. Quote POTATO!
