But ok I will probably go that route then...big 3, extra battery and sell the amp and get a better amp...ok cool what do you guys think a 12" HCCA can do in a regular cab truck (SPL)... just real rough ballpark do you think ill get into the 140's just ballpark I know it's impossible to actually know until I term-lab it... soundstream15
its hard to say, its all in the box, dont get a shitty prefab box have someone on here build you one or dave the box guy. its alittle expensive but the outcome is worth it
Ambassador of Bass
Ok just found a owners manual on it. Orion says it needs a 2 cu ft. box if it is to be sealed or a 1.5 cu ft. boz if it is vented...also says the port tuning frequency should be 40hz...so if I do this I am thinking i'd definetly go vented for spl right? most ppls spl systems i have seen are vented... am I right? sealed=punchy bass where as vented=low consistant bass? I built my box for my RE sub (its sealed)so I am gonna try to build this too if i can lol i definetly wont get a prefab not for a beast like this anyways... but if i need anyhelp along the way i'll talk to dave. thx Quote Audi A6 Quattro Wangin' Wagon Pioneer Premier DEH-P5901B Headunit w/ IPOD control American Bass SQ5.25 in the Doors Compression Drivers and Horns under Dash 2 American Bass SQ475's for Mids/Highs4 American Bass HD 15's American Bass 500.1 17cuft 3/4" Double Baffle Birch Enclosure 240sqin port @38hz1/0 AWG Stinger big 3 under hood4 Runs of 1/0 AWG Stinger Power and Grounds Stinger Fuseblocks(3) XS Power D3100 Powercells120 amp AlternatorBlue Streetglow Underglow and Interior with Music InterfaceEscort Passport 8500 X50 HardwiredScanGuage II with voltage Readout
soundstream15
anytime man. sealed boxes are generally used for sound quality and accurate bass response. as for vented boxes playing low bass it all depends on the tuning of the vent, my box is tuned to 38hz and it does damn well on the really lows
