check and replace the timing belt same thing happened to me .. I was cruzin and then it just died acted like it wanted to start just did not start timing belt only needed repair due to non interference motor

That sucks. On your car did it cause fuel bleed off or low fuel pressure.I am curious cause I still work on these things once in awhile.Anything I can learn is a help with future cars as I can always learn more.

this seams like the most probably cause for my problems because it was instant with no warning. I'm just looking into other options until I can find out what the problem is. I'm getting a compression gauge that I put in replace of one of the spark plugs. if the pressure comes up low then it's the timing belt. I will know tomorrow after I get a ride to the auto shop

I really wish I could answer this but I have no idea what fuel bleed off is or now to determine if there is low fuel pressure. It's just not something that I have the knowledge in unfortunately

I'll give that I try. I haven't tried it since emptying it a while ago. I just tried it, and it was a thin stream

Cool when it cranked did act like it was wanting to start or just flat crank with no speed increase due to engine trying to start. If that car don't need fuel line disconnect tools pull the filter off and blow through it.But you should notice before you take off if it is bad.Unless something is diff on your car it should have nothing to do with the timing belt at this point. It has a electronic fuel sender in the trunk not on the block.

It didn't really act like it was going to start anytime soon, not even close actually. It just continued spinning and spinning without starting. I'll look into that, I'm not really sure where that is located under the hood. I hope it's not the coil box

Hope not too that can be pricey depending on where you live. The filter should be located on the fire wall left of the brake booster. You just remove all the air intake system and you'll have room to get to it.

I have read up a little on timing belt replacement, it's not easy but it's also possible to do on my own. chances are I'll take it to a shop though because many people have said that it needs to be lifted in order to access the timing belt

I understand.I can tell you from what you described to me about the fuel coming out it is very low. When you push the stem it should spray out hard.Like paint from a paint can if that makes since. If you just want to see if the belt is good you can lose four screws or bolts on the belt cover and carefully pull the cover out alittle and see if the belt is there. As far as wondering if there is pressure in the cylinders you could do a fast check on each one free.By taking out each plug and if your fingers can reach the hole plug it with your finger and see if the pressure changes while the engine cranks.Just pull the plug wires off or unplug the coil pack.It won't tell you the pressure but it will be another way to see if the valves are working just be careful and don't get stuck. The easiest way to check is pull the belt cover back.

Yes it does unfortunately.I would seriously check into the filter it will kill a car like that also.Plus the fuel pump is electrical and automatically pressurizes the line.Unlike a mechanical pump dose.

I'm buying a cheap compression gauge to do this, a lot of the time I don't have anyone else to help me out with this stuff, I do most of it on my own. I'll let you know how the test goes later

Been there hope I wasn't being pushy just trying to help you save some money. But it's easy so say what to do if that person knows about it but not so if someone doesn't.Not everyone wants to work on them and I don't blame them at all it can be a pain.I got 5 tool chests from working on cars and that is a lot of cool audio gear I could have lol.

No you're fine. I do the same thing to my friends when they talk about their prefab boxes and capacitors lol. I just have a hard time understanding car performance. I've never had the chance to do much other than change the oil and air filter
