Torres' Box Tuning geniuses, help me!

hey, I have a buddy helping me with my system and he has taught me the basics to the torres' box tuning calculator. I am building a ported enclosure for a VVX-12 Skar audio sub in my car, and I am not familiar with the general rules of thumb for the port dimensions. Check this out and please help me out and point me in the right direction. I'm aiming for 35Hz btw. Thanks a lot.

I'm running bootcamp on my mac so taking screen caps is weird. It just took me a little bit to figure it out then upload it to photobucket.

by port area, is it talking about the cross-sectional area of the port? or a top-view looking at L-shaped area?

ah, I got it lol. 2in * 13in = 26in^2 lol duh. and It's in range too, so this looks good to go then?

isn't there a rule of thumb for port area per foot that I should be aiming for?
